I was trained as a piano technician by Dennis Gabriel at Metro Piano, starting in 1993.
My household growing up was filled with piano music. My mom, my sister, and myself all played piano. When our piano tuner asked me if I would like to work in a piano shop, I was ecstatic! He took me in and trained me on how to completely tear down a piano and rebuild it from the ground up. It was such a thorough training, I not only learned how to properly tune, but also how to rebuild and regulate the entire piano. While I no longer rebuild pianos, I have always enjoyed the process of bringing the instrument up to pitch and getting every piano to it’s highest quality sound.

Current price for a tuning is $140.
Pitch raising is $70
If your piano hasn’t been tuned in more than 2 years, it likely needs a pitch raising as well as a tuning. Both can be done in the same visit, but there is an extra charge for the pitch raising.
